The Museum’s extremely rich and varied patrimony includes paintings, sculptures, goldsmithing and sacred vestments, objects arranged in sections and in chronological order, coming from the ecclesiastical vicariate of Certaldo, especially from churches that are no longer officiated or even destroyed.
Important are the residual works from the suppressed convent, easily identifiable either by the representation of Augustinian saints or because they have been traced through studies or archival documents, the last evidence of the presence of the Augustinian order that settled in the rectory dedicated to Saints Michele and Jacopo around 1401.
At the moment, a project is underway to adapt the upper floor to museum space for a better and more comprehensible display of the art collection.
